Role Description

Glopal is seeking a Software Developer to join an existing team responsible for designing, developing, and further growing our e-commerce website localization service. You will be working with components written in TypeScript / Node.js running on AWS serverless computing, leveraging WAF, CloudFront, and Lambda. We are dealing with HTML parsing and rewriting, HTTP proxying, JavaScript intercepting, and more to deliver highly dynamic localized e-commerce content, replicating the original site. We are looking for a curious individual with comprehensive troubleshooting and analytical competencies and strong English communication skills.


 

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain backend and frontend software components for localizing and proxying e-commerce websites built on popular e-commerce platforms
    (Shopify, BigCommerce, Magento, SFCC, etc.)
  • Implement new features while maintaining sufficient performance metrics
  • Continuously improve solution compatibility with emerging web trends
  • Influence peers and stakeholders to design best in class localization solution
  • Participate in the entire software development lifecycle



Minimum Qualifications

  • Strong communication skills in English
  • 4+ years of production-level development experience for the web environment
  • BS in Computer Science or Computer Engineering
    or comparable working experience in software engineering
  • Skills in debugging web applications and a deep understanding of how browsers and servers communicate, and how website content gets delivered to the user
  • Knowledge of HTTP and DNS protocols



Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience with Node.js and TypeScript
  • Experience with serverless computing (AWS Lambda or Cloudflare Workers)
  • Basic frontend JavaScript skills (content manipulation, events, HTML5 APIs)
  • Familiarity with HTML parsing and DOM manipulation
  • Familiarity with text processing using Regular Expressions
  • Familiarity with web content caching and delivery techniques
  • Familiarity with e-commerce platforms (Shopify, BigCommerce, Magento, SFCC)
